The Interuniversity Centre of Economics applied to the Policies for Industry, Local Development and Internationalization (c.MET-05) has been established in 2005 with the collaboration of the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Ferrara, the Department of Economic Sciences of the University of Florence and the Department of Informatic, Management and Automation Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Marche. Since 2010 also the Orientale University of Naples is a university partner. The Centre activities are centred around the following topics:

research activity on economics applied to the analysis of industries, local systems and firms;

research activity on policies for industry and development with a focus on the comparison between local processes and internationalization;

the promotion of applied approaches on policies for industry and development, by means of case studies, fieldwork, permanent labs, involvement of firms and institutions.
In these fields, the Centre aims to promote:

a wider national network that, starting from the partner universities, is able to involve other research groups;

collaboration agreements with international research centres;

the discussion of research projects and results within the Italian and international research community;

valorisation of research outputs, also by means of collaboration relations with public and private actors;

education and training activities also in collaboration with a wider national and international network of lecturers and researchers.
